How it works?

The School Eco Savers League is the delivery-focused element of our programme. It provides a clear and structured way for schools to plan and focus on delivery, take action and receive recognition for what has been achieved over the academic year.

The League uses a straightforward, points-based approach and is designed to keep the focus on practical activity rather than unnecessary paperwork.

Action areas & Scoring categories

Each action your school takes is scored based on its depth, scale, and impact in all of the key action areas.

Points are awarded using five key scoring categories. These are separate from the areas of action. The areas of action describe what your school is focusing on, while the scoring categories are used to assess how well that activity has been planned and delivered.

The same scoring categories can be applied across any of the areas of impact. This allows different types of activity to be assessed in a consistent way. Each category is linked to a point range. The score awarded depends on the strength of the activity described, including its scale, level of engagement and overall impact.

The more ambitious and inclusive your actions, the more points you’ll earn, helping your school climb the league table.

Action areas

The areas of impact provide a simple way to group actions and ensure different aspects of sustainability are considered. Schools can focus on one or more areas depending on their priorities.
